School Uniform Policy

Article 26: You have the right to a good quality education.

You should be encouraged to go to school to the highest level you can.

Ethos All children at Woodslee Primary School wear their school uniform with pride. It contributes to a sense of belonging and teamwork. Therefore when your child joins Woodslee Primary School we are all in a shared agreement that :

It is the responsibility of children, parents and carers to ensure that the correct Woodslee uniform is worn at all times;

It is the responsibility of Woodslee Primary School staff to promote high expectations with the school uniform.

 

Our School  Uniform

Foundation 2 – Year 6

Winter

Boys: Grey trousers, pale blue polo shirt with squirrel logo, navy blue sweater with squirrel logo, black school shoes, grey socks. Navy blue waterproof coat with squirrel logo.

GirlsGrey skirt, pale blue polo shirt with squirrel logo, navy blue sweater with squirrel logo, black school shoes, grey tights/socks. Navy blue waterproof coat with squirrel logo.

Summer

Boys: Grey trousers or shorts, pale blue polo shirt with squirrel logo, navy blue V neck sweater/tank top with squirrel logo, black school shoes, grey socks. Navy blue waterproof coat with squirrel logo.

Girls: Light blue checked summer dress, navy blue cardigan with squirrel logo, white socks, black school shoes. Navy blue waterproof coat with squirrel logo.

P.E. and Games Kit – Foundation 2 – Year 6

 Article 31: All children have the right to play and rest.

· Boys and Girls: Black shorts, pale blue t-shirt with squirrel logo and black plimsolls. Navy blue jogging trousers can be worn during the winter months;

  • It is the responsibility of children, parents and carers to ensure that the correct Woodslee PE uniform is worn at all times;
  • It is the responsibility of children, parents and carers that PE kits are kept in a named navy blue drawstring shoebag with squirrel logo;
  • It is the responsibility of children, parents and carers that named PE kits are kept in school during term time;
  • It is the responsibility of children, parents and carers that when swimming boys wear swimming trunks and not shorts. Girls should have their hair tied back preferably with a swimming hat;

All children have a right to learn therefore:

  • For safety reasons, children are not permitted to wear any kind of jewellery including earrings in school except watches. If a child needs to wear a piece of jewellery for medical or religious reasons, it must be agreed with the Headteacher and removed or covered up during physical activity with a letter written to explain the reason;
  • Navy blue head coverings can be worn for religious beliefs. Burkhas are not permitted;
  • Nail polish and hair gel must not be worn;
  • Shoulder length hair and longer should be tied back neatly, with plain blue or blue/white checked bands or blue ‘scrunchies’.  Large hair rosettes and bows are not to be worn. Hair must not be shaven either partially or fully or have marked patterns shaven into the hair.  Boy’s hair length should be no shorter than a number three.

 

Books & Bags
  • All children are to use a navy blue briefcase-style bag or blue rucksack with squirrel logo for carrying their reading books, pencils and belongings.

 

Non Compliance

of School Uniform Policy

· It is the responsibility of Woodslee Primary School staff to promote high expectations with the school uniform; 

· It is the responsibility of children, parents and carers to ensure that the correct Woodslee uniform is worn at all times;

· As a pupil of Woodslee Primary School you agree to the school uniform policy therefore school sanctions will be put in place if this is not adhered to.
